A few days ago, I blogged about my early favorite Fall 14 ad campaign by Cole Haan that caught my eye. And now that I’ve had sufficient time to luxuriate around my apartment and enjoy all my September Issues, I’ve created my Fall 14 favorites list! My number one favorite, hands-down, is the Fall 14 Moschino campaign shot my Steven Meisel (who coincidentally shot almost ALL of my favorites this year). I love the mix of high and low, the beautiful classic museum-style photography paired with Jeremey Scott’s crazy clothes, which themselves are a blend of American pop culture and high fashion. They are playful and fun. And who doesn’t love the iconic models in the campaign?
Second up are the Fall 14 Miu Miu ads (below), also shot by Steven Meisel – noticing a trend here??
I love the high contrast black & white. These are something edgy and new compared to the Miu Miu ads I’m used to seeing.
Also like the new Fall 14 Coach ads (below), shot on the High Line in NYC by, you guessed it, Steven Meisel. You can tell they’re really trying to reinvent themselves now that there’s a new designer at the helm. I think the clothes look great, the bags look just okay, but I’m also not into purses.
Any my last favorite is Mac’s Mineralize campaign. While this may technically be a spring/summer campaign, I’m just now seeing these ads so they count. This campaign was shot by Mario Sorrenti. I love the lighting + shadows. What a perfect idea for a beauty campaign, and so-very-Mac with the use of black.
How great are these? Can’t get enough. Hope you enjoyed my Fall 14 favorites this year. Get into it!
And now for my LEAST favorite, Louis Vuitton’s Fall 14 campaign. I don’t like the bags or the photos. Nothing here I like, especially the settings in the images. Marc Jacobs, I miss you already at LV. Yuck.
