I was in Urban Outfitters, and I stumbled across this copy of Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice, with a cover designed by Ruben Toledo. He’s one of my FAVORITE illustrators, and I instantly recognized his work. I ended up judging a book by its cover and purchased it. I’m actually going to read it as well. In the introduction to the book, it says R. Toledo was commissioned to design a series of classic books for Penguin Publishing, so I’d love to find which other books he designed.

Don’t these covers make reading more fun? The design of the book inside is pretty fun as well!

First set is “Denotative,” Second is “Connotative.”

The High Line Park, is literally an urban oasis in the middle of Manhattan. Twisting several city blocks, the Park winds between buildings, towers over streets, and incorporates nature and the urban environment seamlessly. Easily my favorite spot in Manhattan, it’s a rare place to slow down and relax with nature, in the fast paced city.
